About Culture Shock Yogurt

As much fun to create as it is to consume!

On July 24th, 2009 we opened the doors to a new, fun, exciting place to meet in downtown Grass Valley. Less than a year later, we opened our second location in the Brunswick Basin of Grass Valley. In an effort to bring Culture Shock Yogurt to more customers, we opened our third shop in Auburn (including Yo-Shakes) in June 2011. With 90+ toppings in each shop, Culture Shock Yogurt is a completely self-serve frozen yogurt shop. We welcome you into our shop for a healthy snack or a decadent dessert.

In March of 2012, we opened a CA state certified yogurt products packaging plant that allows us to package cups of yogurt, and other specialty yogurt treats, and bring them to any location for you to enjoy. You can find these packaged products in high schools across Nevada and Placer Counties, as well as at local events. This allows us to create fun new frozen yogurt items that you would not be able to find in most other frozen yogurt shops.
It is up to you, our guests, to have as much fun creating as you will have consuming your own special yogurt treat. It is our goal to make your experience at Culture Shock Yogurt one that will bring a smile to your face
and have you return frequently to "Create your next Culture Shock Yogurt experience".

Because community involvement is very important to us, we willingly donate
to local fundraisers (schools, many charities, kid's sports programs, etc.),
and events. We feel that supporting the communities that have so warmly welcomed us is an integral part Culture Shock Yogurt's success and popularity.

Bobbi: After a 25-year corporate career in the Bay Area, moving to Grass Valley offered the opportunity for a new career challenge. Being a frozen yogurt addict during those 30 years, it seemed the obvious solution was to create Culture Shock Yogurt.  We are so proud to be one of the larger employers in the county, and to bring our wonderful products into the schools and other events.

Mike: Happily joined the family business at the beginning of 2012 after leaving the Silicon Valley and a high tech job. He really enjoys coming to Grass Valley to work in a much smaller company because personal relationships are far more important to him than getting lost in the hustle and bustle of the San Francisco Bay Area lifestyle. With full responsibility for all the opportunities created by our packing plant, Mike thrives on working with nutrition directors from school districts and other local businesses offering frozen yogurt as a much healthier alternative than most other treats offered.
